    Korean Educators Conference

    • Korean education personnel at King Sejong Institutes are invited once a year to strengthen the professionalism of Korean education and establish a cooperative network among the teachers around the world.
    • We provide an opportunity to have those around the world who are engaged in Korean language education share their experience and train them to upgrade their expertise.

    • Purpose : Strengthening the network of cooperation among Korean language teachers worldwide and enhancing their teaching competency

    • We pay round-trip airfare and living expenses. Detailed information will be provided in our invitations.

    • Application period : March every year
    • Recruitment notice : Announcement on the Foundation website and official letters sent to King Sejong Institutes
    • Notification to final participants: April

    • A letter of recommendation written by the director of the Korea Culture Center of King Sejong Institute, application for participation (a photo to be submitted in a file), a copy of passport, presentation materials, letters of consent (concerning safety management and information sharing)

    • Intensification of professionalism in King Sejong Institutes’ Korean & Korean culture education
    • Dispatching of a holder of a teacher’s certificate of the Korean Language to King Sejong Institutes in need of professional teachers
    • Job creation for the domestic holder of a teacher’s certificate of the Korean language to work overseas

    Business Outline
    • Purpose : Dispatch qualified korean teacher to the place that needs expert Korean teacher

      Create overseas vacancy where licensed teachers who are qualified in accorance with 'Korean basic grammar'

    • Dispatching period : The first 10 months; Extension for another year (or two years) is possible depending on the evaluation result to be made at the end of the contract period
    • Dispatching institute : Dispatched to King Sejong Institute in foreign countries

    • Requesting institute for dispatching teachers
    • King Sejong Institutes which are short of the number of teachers compared to the number of students
    • King Sejong Institutes which are short of professional teachers
    • King Sejong Institutes which are capable of playing a role as a base King Sejong Institute

    ※ Reference: Priority consideration to the King Sejong Institute who can afford to support a dispatched teacher (support of visa issuance, lodging, living expenses during his/her stay, etc.)

    • Support & supervision of a dispatched teachers’ educational activities
    • Support of a dispatched teacher’s adaptation to local living
    • Evaluation of dispatched teachers' capability of carrying out assignments and attitude at work
    Screening of a Teacher to be Dispatched Overseas and the Teacher’s Role
    • Qualifications for Being Screened
      - Those not subject to the State Public Officials Act, Article 33 (Grounds for Disqualification)
      - Those who have completed or are exempt from military service as of the day of our notice for selection (for men)
      - Those holding Korean nationality
      - Those meeting all of the following qualifications

    • Online course : Support to teachers through Nuri-Sejong Institute
    • Offline course : Accommodation fee, International airfare (Economy)
    Requirements for completion
    • Completion of on-line course : 100% attendance and lecture on online course through Nuri-Sejonghakdang LMS (http://www.sejonghakdang.org)
    • However, offline courses only for those who completed online courses
    • Completion of off-line course: Those with a full attendance record at an off-line lecture are eligible for sitting for an evaluation test. A certification of course completion is issued for those obtaining a grade of 60/100 or higher in written tests in Categories 1-4 and practice in Category 5.
